IMPROVING WORKPLACE WELLBEING AND CUSTOMER CARE
State Transit Authority, NSW Transport.
Yvette responded to an RFP from State Transit Authority, NSW Transport (under the auspices of Corporate Actors Australia). The brief was to create a program that would look at ways to increase customer service capability on Sydney’s buses. During the design phase, the brief developed into a program to increase wellbeing and resilience for Sydney Bus Operators. Here is what the client had to say:
“In my role as OD business partner at State Transit, I collaborated with Yvette and Corporate Actors Australia (CAA) when they won the contract to design a professional development day for 3600 Bus Operators, which required delivery 5 days per week over approx 8 months. The objective was to engage Bus Operators and build customer service capability, underpinned by principles of positive psychology, empathy based learning, wellbeing and resilience, all of which Yvette’s expertise helped design these dimensions into the program on every level. Yvette’s boundless energy, positivity, curiosity, creativity, passion, humour, ability to deliver results, acting experience her understanding of psychology and human behaviour were invaluable to this process. The delivery was outstanding. Yvette and the team delivered all 180 sessions infused with the same spark and level of enthusiasm and energy as though each one were the opening night!! The evaluation data spoke to the effectiveness of and impact Yvette’s and CAA’s delivery had on our Bus Operators. Yvette was an absolute pleasure to work with and her customer service and client management is second to none. I can’t speak highly enough of Yvette. She has definitely left a mark on State Transit and I hope we get the opportunity to work together in the future”

POSITIVE INFLUENCING SKILLS
It is not uncommon in the health industry to find patients do not adhere to treatment plans. The managing partner of a thriving physiotherapy practice realised that something had to be done about the lack of adherence for the benefit of their patients and for business. He decided to contact Yvette about the best way to approach it.
“It was great to have psychologist Yvette Alcott in the clinic recently to talk about the importance of communication in helping our clients to better health. The team commented that they came away with some ‘pearls’ that they can put to good use with our clients to help them towards recovery. Thank you Yvette.”

TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK
Executive Learning Group
The CEO of an executive learning group organisation, that provides facilitated learning and guest speakers for peers at executive level in government decided it was important for the groups to get a deep understanding of how to approach conversations about mental health at work. Dr. Alcott was recommended to the group by wellbeing experts and she created a seminar focused on managers’ responsibilities and leaders’ opportunities to improve their communications and actions around mental health in the workplace.
“I think your session with our group went really well - lots of discussion as people moved out into the park for lunch, and people saying to me they felt more confident about identifying and managing mental ill health issues in their teams. It was a pleasure having you along.

THE POWER OF NONVERBALS
Portfolio Construction Forum
Yvette was offered the opportunity to present a keynote presentation on the impact body language has on our communications with others. The presentation was to be part of a broader educational forum that challenges delegates’ thinking with a range of high conviction ideas on the relationship between people and money and behaviour change.
After watching Yvette’s presentation, a poll showed that almost 70% of the audience understood and were convinced that non verbals are highly influential in our communications.
